The Quitter is a poem by Robert Service which I read in this video from a book called the Collected Poems of Robert Service. Many of his poems are more ballad or story-telling style works of much greater length, with a tendancy to be adventerous and rugged, and usually tinged with humor and irony. The photo is from a pair of snakes I saw fighting...seemed to fit.

  • good reading man. I'm in love with this poem. Got Robert Frosts' Stopping Woods last stanza tattooed on my left side. The last stanza of this is going on my right when I get the time/$.

  • @Sporkling Ouch...that's gotta hurt! Guess it's better than trying for the last stanza of the Cremation of Sam McGee : ) Thanks for your really nice comments - I am hoping to post some other readings, soon, but keep finding other responsibilities draw me back to reality. Ah, well...let me know how the tat turns out.

  • Good presentation. Thanks
