A jangly, feel-good, folk-pop-rock song from the first all-female, self-founded rock group to be signed to and release an album on a major record label.

The song was written by June Millington, recorded by the band in December 1971 at Apple Studios in London, UK. Examples of June's excellent slide guitar playing can be heard on this track!

Before the Runaways, the Bangles, the Go-Gos, etc., there was FANNY.

David Bowie said of Fanny (Rolling Stone, 29 December 1999):
"One of the most important female bands in American rock has been buried without a trace. And that is Fanny. They were one of the finest... rock bands of their time, in about 1973. They were extraordinary... they're as important as anybody else who's ever been, ever; it just wasn't their time."

Fanny were (original lineup, 1969 - 1974):

June Millington - acoustic and slide guitars, vocals
Jean Millington - bass, guitars, vocals
Nickey Barclay - keyboards, guitars, vocals
Alice de Buhr - drums, percussion

For more info on the band (whose continued omission from general rock history memory, even by some women bands today, is nothing short of criminal):
