@elbasrever: Salaam: This is a very good question. The rewards of reciting the Quran are many. An authentic hadith in At-Tirmithee states: Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merit as well.

The previous Hadith regarding 10 hasanat for each letter can be found in
Fazail-e-amaal by sheikh moulana Zakariyya khandalvi under the section of virtues of the Quran
Furthermore if you take time to read this section and the various ahadith relating to the benefits of reciting the holy Quran you will find that this action is not in the least bit pointless and is very rewarding

It is not useless to read the Quran even though you dont understand it
There's was once a boy who used to read the Quran with his grandad but he thought there was no point as he didn't understand it
His granddad gave him a dirty bucket with holes and said go full water on this and bring it back before the water finishes
So he went and by the time he came back all the water was gone. His grandad said you Were not fast enough do it again
So this time he ran faster and came back

@Donndepp Salam alaikum (:
Where do these calculations of good deeds come from? I haven't heard of this before....

@elbasrever: Salama Alaykum wrwb, brother or sister. I want to correct you. It is not useless reading the Quran if you don't understand. Remember that for each letter of Qur’an you will receive insaAllah: 10 hasanat (as minimum).
Alaykum Salam

@fazablackcat many translators have interpreted the meaning to be 'understand' not memorise, which makes much more sense, of course theres nothing wrong at all with learning arabic... i would love to learn it myself, that isnt the argument, i was arguing against those who say it MUST be read in arabic for any gain, those whom Allah swt describes as donkeys carrying books, Salam
A few weeks back, this girl was in my head and I decided I should approach her so things can go further but with so called clean intentions. At the same time I had the wrong crowd influencing me. I was confused and was not sure if this is right or if I should go back to the lifestyle of when I was seeing girls. I went to the prayer room at my school, and before opening the Quran I asked Allah to guide me with the first verses I lay my eyes on. Behold it was Surah Kahf verse 28. Subhanallah.
