On 7th July 2008, when on holiday in Teesdale, my wife & I visited the "Head of Steam", the railway museum in Darlington. From the car park, I took photos of a 'strange' loco on the track behind. It was this loco in its workshop livery. From the last frame in the video it looks as though it had not moved since. As I do not own a camcorder, yet, it is nice to see it move.

No its a totally different class of locomotive. Scotsman was an A1 when built but the lner changed the names of the classes so scotsman became A3 and the class tornado is being built to A1
lovely! wow i never knew a steam engine could take off that fast! so what are her colors going to be? green apple?

After running in at the gcr she is getting painted lner apple green. The plan then is every 2 years to paint her in a different livery that the a1's carried. I think its br blue next.
