proper credentials (being a state licensed bondman, professional (private) investigator, or lawenforcement) they will face more severe scrutiny in court litigation in the event something goes wrong while investigating or recovering a defendant. Regardless, even if you morons were legaly certified to do fugitive recovery... these comercials make the industry look very unprofessional. These ads do more harm than good to the Michigan bail bond industry. Have some integrity and professionalism.

Here is a CCTV video clip of a real Detroit area Bail Enforcement Agent making an apprehension. He stoped at a neighborhood 7-11 to grab a pop on his way to serve a revocation when he recognized the defendant he was going to an area residence to take into custody. His partner was sitting in the car waiting for him when he ran inside. Note how smooth and professionaly this was done. No waiving of guns, yelling, fighting or cans of bear mace!

@troubleonutube I'm sorry but you are incorrect; all one needs is a written contract and authorization from the Bail Agent to apprehend an absconder here in MI. The changes to the Professional Investigator Act back in 2008 left a lot of confusion about this area of work. To do any investigative work leading up to an apprehension you require a Professional Investigators License; but, you do not need one to carry out the apprehension itself.

Though Legislation is pending to change that!

First: What license are you offering training for?? There currently is no license for Bail Enforcement in the State of MI. Though, under the proposed legislation; if licensing is passed, a student must apply for licensing within 5 business days of taking an approved course.

Second: Their clothing and badges are against state law; We can not use the term "Fugitive Recovery Agent" under the Law Enforcement Identification Act.

Third: In their little chase scene violates common sense!

@ everyone there is a such thing as being licensed in michigan, i know because I have my certification and have worked many jobs, the only thing about them is that; they will take your money and more likely get you locked up like they almost did to me, they were robbing then trying to put the blaim on me.... What state are you licensed in? Michigan has no fugitive recovery licensing.

None of these individuals are fugitive recovery agents. They claim to be, however they are not. There is no certification or licensure to be a "fugitive recovery agent" for the state of michigan however one does have to by law be either a licensed bondman, privite investigator, or lawenforcement to investigate and recover under contract for money. Rarely is this law enforced, and for that reason so many individuals get away with doing so. However if one does do so without... (continued).
