*Leave on and read the annotations for this post: they are important for this video!
**Remember to eat well-balanced meals from the whole spectrum of colors of veggies, fruits, nuts, legumes, soy products, wheat and whole grains, and other non-animal sources if you are a Vegan or Vegetarian, as well as take a good mulitvitamin. Diet and nutrition take research, time, and energy.
***Again I am not a Doctor, a Registered Dietitian, nor a Licensed Nutritionist, I do not have the accredition to be a food mentor--I am just an individual explaining my experience with Veganism, my diet, and exercise.
Definition of Vegan: "[T]he word "veganism" denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals." (from the Vegan Society--I don't know who this society is, but this is what wikipedia gave me.) My definition of Vegan: Someone who does not exploit, kill, harm, eat, or use animals for their own life or personal gain--one who does not eat any animal products including meat, eggs, poulty, fish, diary, honey (if you have a question about this one--google honeybees and understand why honeybees are so important and the danger we are having with their existence here in America right now), or anything else that is, was, or comes from an animal.
Here is my long overdue video about my experience as a Vegan thus far--it's been almost three years now. I had promised myself and others that I would make a Vegan video so here it is.
The supplements that are in this video, the protein shakes and such, are for my bodybuilding. A person who is not into weightlifting or growing muscles does not need to take these supplements--they can eat soy products or complement their meals to get the correct amount of amino acids, or protein(s) needed.
I want to make it clear I chose not to eat animals because I believe it is ethically incompatible with my philosophy of living; I do not eat animals because it is undeniably terrible the way animals are treated and slaughtered; I do not eat animals because I like animals and I don't want to ingest them; and I don't eat animals because I believe a plant based diet is the healthiest for the human being. If you have any questions on being a Vegan, Veganism, Vegetarianism, life, music, or anything else feel free to leave a comment or message me.

Vegans one important thing Kevin talked about is your omega 3 fatty acids. Flax seeds, walnuts, and other healthy fatty non-animal products mostly only contain ala fatty acids and not your other two main acids epa and dha which can be found mostly in fish. But good news vegans dha is on the rise in alot of foods but epa is tougher to find. Recently a couple of supplement companies that carry both epa and dha in a vegan capsal. Guess where the fish get there epa and dha? Thats right algae.

I am new vegan! :) I changed my lifestyle after watching "if slaughter houses had glass walls ..." and doing some research about how bad all meats are for you! Anyway, I passed straight through being a vegetarian and went directly into being a vegan! Yes, it disgusted me that much! So my question is what vital vitamins does a vegan need outside of produce? I know one is b12, but do you suggest a shot or pill form?

@danthompson32 Hey Aussie vegan, Canadian vegan here lol. Is there a lot of vegan foods in Australian grocery stores? I mean like substitues like hemp/soy milks, coconut ice cream, tofu, that sort of thing. just wandering cause I want to visit someday.

Haha you're adorable! I've been vegan nearly seven years and got my blood tested in the last year to find out that everything looked pretty snazzy except my iron levels. I've started taking a vitamin called "Blood Builder" by Mega Food Co. and I've been bruising a lot less and feeling more energized. Regardless of your diet, I feel like it can be difficult to get every vitamin you need without taking supplements, especially with such busy lives that we lead. I highly recommend Vega as well!

Be careful with that soy. Its pretty much toxic in its raw form and a lot of very nasty solvents are used to defat it for the supplement industry. If you can't eat it raw in its natural form, then your probably should not eat it.
