My very first CNC project. I want to mount a larger router, and thought it'd be interesting to make the mounts for it using the existing one. I designed the mount in about 10 minutes, created a tool path, and cut two of them out of plastic cutting board. They're a perfect fit. Cut time was about 10 minutes, though I had the tool and cutting speed dialled down.

  • nice work dude 5 stars

how much cost you the 3 stepper motors and the driver controller in the rang of 350 $

  • I bought the steppers and the driver from Xylotex for $410, mounted in the case, with wiring, and all set up. You can get it for $310 if you want to do the case mount / fan / wiring yourself.

  • The wood for the tool itself was just from Home Depot. The plastic sheets are UHMW (Google it). I bought it from a place called Tap Plastics, but lots of places sell it, either online or local.

  • That's awesome that you used the CNC machine to make itself better.

  • I'm really interested in making a CNC for small plastic and metal parts for robotics projects. Where do you source the plastic and other raw materials?
