I think it was an egg- just read this in a BeeGees book. Crowd expected the bee Gees and this was a Robin only gig. He took it well, ya gotta admit!

despite what the book might have said...definitely a tomato, and advertising posters for the concert were very clear...it was advertised as Robin on his own. It must have been big news any way that the Bee Gees had split months before

Thanks 555dazza--the book mentioned 2 earlier instances where poor Robin got egged, I must have mixed them up. Been reading/hearing too many BeeGees items lately! (Not possible, I know--love these guys!)
