NU played a great game and dont take that away from them just because we are bitter from the lose. i dont think we would have lost with stanzi in the game but you never know what would have happend. good game NU.

Stanzi was the heart and soul of the offense. If he wouldn't have gotten hurt there's no way we lose this game. It had a huge psychological impact on the team. Northwestern played well though and deserved to win.

@nate12bigten not really sunny, this was our quarterbacks first real game of his career persa played like all in almost every game, you saw what vandenburg did against ohio state with a week of timing. Remember iowa dropped 1 touchdown and missed a field goal so it was lucky, but this year iowa will win big

I dont think people realize that NU had there backup in for most to all of the game. Persa did an amazing job and will do an amazing job in 2010. But all i hear is "we lost cause stanzi got hurt." MAn up. It was backup vs backup. kwhich is pretty even. and Iowa ranked 9 should have had a better D, But NU ripped it apart.

Even though we lost and I had to hear it from my brother for weeks (he goes to NU) and we lost Stanzi I still had a lot of fun at that game. We were so loud when the hawks were on defense. Props to Persa, Kafka and the whole NU team for keeping their composure because that was by far the loudest we had been all season.

@HereComeTheHawkeyes And I mean, this is the Big 10. Anything can happen in the Big 10 or Pac-10 with that level of competition. And you are correct... Stanzi (even with those early interceptions) was a large part of the success of this team. And how many times had he brought the team back from early trouble last season?

@iowahawks26 hey im not happy about him getting injured i worded that the wrong way. i just want the best for NU and i have nothing against the hawkeyes i root for them whenever they r not playing the cats. stanzi is a better qb than kafka and if he never got hurt we never would have won. it was a cheap hit. ok? but go cats and i respect iowa--

Thank you HereComeTheHawkeyes. You may be one of the smartest hawkeyes fans ever. All my friends talked about after that game was that iowa wouldve won if stanzi hadnt gotten hurt. its football. Injuries happen. Move on and have some other player step up.
