Any thing electric is always great.

why didnt GM think of that chargeing method. GM is stupid for destroying the ev1s to make room for the volt which may or may not be a hoax. i believe it isnt.

@scifi353 yeah thats the big selling point of this, but a special charging station is required to do this so you can recharge in 10 minutes just anywhere... yet. The company had filed for bankruptcy at one point but restructured and has new backers, it has gone into 'stealth mode' to finish its suv/sut by late 2010 which could be a great sign, or just mean the company is really dead, we should find out pretty soon though. Keeping my fingers crossed!

The first driver is called Leif Pagrotsky! He is a very famous potitician in Sweden. He was a minister in the previous government.

This company solves the two biggest problems with electric cars, low ranges and slow charging times.
Ten minutes is not nearly as long as the four hours most cars take, I realise this is with fast charge but with the proper infrastructure you could get anywhere without waiting hours to recharge.
I want to see these in Canada soon!

EXCELLENT...finally a great car!!!

Invest in the company that makes the batteries these cars are going to use, Altair Nanotechnologies (type ALTI into Yahoo Finance)
-
actually the pollution made to manufacture a batteries would be even greater than the pollution from low emission vehicles but this thing kicks major ass because electric motors require next to no maintenance
i would definitely buy this truck

hey that e-mail and web thing sounds sick for when you're sitting in traffic in LA!

Car of the future!
If there's a good thing about the spiral of gasoline prices it's that it finally is making technology such as this attractive and competitive. I'm thinking however that unless one was to also have a second gas-powered vehicle, you'd be limited to in-city short trips if this were your only vehicle. We need to either - 1) have hybrids that can use traditional fuels if needed, or 2) find a way to develop batteries with more capacity for longer range, or 3) find a way to "rapid-charge" this.
