Hanging my Christmas Ornament on the Tree at the Mall

Wearing a red Santa's cap I helped decorate the giant Christmas tree at the local mall today with a homemade ornament I put together, but after I hung (flung) my ornament high up into the tree, a US Marine who happened to see me do this followed me out of the mall and started freaking out at me because he was suspicious I may have planted some kind of IED, improvised explosive device, in the Christmas Tree, the one right behind Santa and the kids!

I explained to him it was a joke for my YouTube video and he calmed down a bit and I left. He'd been in combat and probably has PTSD, so I understand, but wow. I never considered that contingency.
