Problem was, Boogaard was just about all they had for intimidation. The Ducks playoff roster, on the other hand, was stacked with good fighters: May Day, Pornstache Parros, Windmill Moen, Sean O'Donnell, Shawn Thornton, Beauchemin. The whole disgusting incident with May's sucker punch on Johnsson was totally unnecessary. Boogaard was well aware that any hard hits he took on Ducks skill player would be paid back in spades. What were they going to do? Play him for 60 minutes?
