it is upsetting buh the children were evacuated for their own safety && would have a better chance of surviving when they were evacuated to the country..

I have just watched some of the clips and you dont realise how bad things were then, my mum was evacuated in the war, after a bomb hit there house and killed her mother, just doing the family tree thing as well. Really something, we shoild all appreciate how lucky we are today, and always rember the people that were killed in both wars 1 and 11

well done for your first upload..and a good topic choice, and very touching. Sadly not all children were treated well when they were billeted out. Quite a few were treated most unkindly.

This is One of the most devastating happenings of the War..God only knows what the Parents and the Children went through emotionally,although..Ive a good idea.
I dont think I could have done it..God Bless them All.

my grandma was evacuated from East London to the country and luckily had a nice family. she loved it. she only returned to London because her mum died

kinda evil how some of the foster parents took the kids ration books or abused them. must of been fun for the others though

@only1gow Also, although the topic of evacuation isn't key in these films, but films like '5 children and it', 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The lion, the witch and the wardrobe' and 'Bedknobs and brooksticks' do touch on the subject at the beginning of each film.
