  • Jasonrtilden - If you add the Oxycat sleeves or Snapcat strips to the bulbs, they will indeed clean the carry into the rest of the house to clean and kill allergens and pathogens. The reaction of UV-C illuminating the Titanium dioxide coated surfaces of the Snapcat or Oxycat sleeves cause particles to be created which are carried in the airstream into the house. These particles attach themselves to the pathogens and allergens and break their DNA which causes them to die, just like UV-C does.

  • Do they recommend these things to be on all the time or can they be hard wired into the electical so it only comes on with the fan?

  • If you leave the furnace fan and UV-C unit on all the time, they will constantly clean the air. In the summer, you want to leave it on, as it will keep the mold and mildew from growing on the A-coil, which is the biggest culprit in allergies being constantly sent through your closed air conditioned house. It doesnt cost that much more per year to constantly have the fan on your a/c heating unit circulating the air in your house.

  • @jasonrtilden wrong, CaluTech uses super high output, only a 1/2 second of exposure is needed on these units. They are the real deal, not junk.

  • Not true. UV lights only work on surfaces that are being "washed" with the UV light over time, particles in the air stream will not get enough exposure time as they are moving too quickly. You would need a good air cleaner to remove the particulates and then running the blower would help improve air quality and comfort level.
