I'm a die hard Yankee fan and absolutely love this guy. His talents are undeniable. He played with heart, talent and the love of the game. He was the anti-cry baby. One of the classiest players to ever pick up a bat as well. He also was the beginning of the big Shortstop. 431 hr's lifetime. Without Cal there would be no A-Rods and no Jeters.

I'm a die hard Yankee fan as well, couldn't agree more. Fortunately, I lived in Baltimore for six years as a child and got to see him play; unfortunately, I wasn't a little bit older to see him in his prime and to watch him play longer. Footage like this gives me the chills...I love looking at all of my old baseball cards I collected of him over the years; they don't make ballplayers like this anymore.

More than that, it would be grand. Baltimore needs to get baseball and other sports back into prominence like it once had.

Yes, definitely, because baseball lost its meaning when Ripken is no longer there. We want and need Ripken now more than ever.
