Thousands of mourners gathered outside Harlem's famed Apollo Theater to pay tribute to James Brown in a memorial service preceding his funeral. From amNewYork and amNY.com
During the 60's, I ran onto the Apollo stage during one of Mr. Brown's FABULOUS performances (along with a bunch of other fans). I gave him a HUGE hug and was rightly thrown out!! Dem were the dayzz, my friend! Sooo much FUN!!! I ADORE HIM!!!! :)
James Brown was the innovator of all that we enjoy today's black music. So much of Hip Hop was inspired by him it's not even funny. He will be missed.
michael jackson was definitely at the funeral. he even made a speech, something about when he was a little kid his mother would wake him up at no matter what time to see on tv "the master at work". i was so happy when i saw him on the news paying his respects!
Its so awesome how people testify the life of Godfather of Soul James Brown, of what he has done in the community, music and and on the dance floor. RIP
I wonder if he still feels good?
