  • One of my bassists talked to me about hearing some early Coleman Hawkins that sounded 'almost Bebop'. I think this may be the recording he was talking about.

  • @suaveoo You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO right! Makes me just want to dance all over the place, but when the Hawk cuts loose you just stop since you are so mesmerised by that kick-ass solo!

  • WOW!! Go Hawk Go..... one of the most exciting tenor sax solos ever recorded. And a hell of a record. You would have thought that Hawkins and Waller were in this band from day one, they fit in so beautifully. A marvelous arrangement, and just one of the true classic late 20s hot jazz records. I'll love it forever!

  • great song

  • ...Imagine--Wall Street had just crashed just a little over a week before...

  • "AW, PLAY THAT THING!!!!!"

    Great cut. :)
