  • The song itself is a masterpiece worthy of "old blue eyes "Sinatra or Tony Bennet as it plays like a timeless standard, lifes sweet sadness.Of course Garcia took it the heavens!

i wonder what Dame Kiri Te-Kanawa or a Welsh choir would do with it,it is that bloody great!

    Aussie deadhead

  • I like the piano...

  • What year is this from?

  • A beautiful song and her version also maid my hair stand.

  • This is one of those songs that everyone that does it brings something different to. What she brings to it is way different than what Jerry did. You have to go into these kind of songs not looking for what the other people that have done it brought to it. Do I like this song as much as when Garcia did it? No. do I like this way a lot? Yes. I wish she would put out a dead cover cd!

  • Thanks for the upload! Thanks Joan for covering it, I know it's heartfelt. And sure enough, this song still gives me chills and happy tears things thinking of Jerry...so if that was the idea, Joan accomplished it! Peace.

  • joan is the best female voice for this song. from someone who truly loves this tune, I am really happy she did this

  • Somehow, I don't see Jerry arising from the dead and making homophobic comments in support of his music. Correct me if I am wrong.

  • This version is totally gay. Raise garcia from the dead!

  • I can respect this, I really can... but I don't think there was enough in it. I'm not taking anything away from her by any means, but I just... there is something missing. I think that the only artist who can do this solo is Warren. Just him and a guitar, it's magical. But this is one of those songs, Like Terrapin and Wharf Rat that was made just for Jerry. Joan did a good job, hell a great job, but it just isn't there for me. Sorry if I offended anyone.
