  • hey i just got one of those free knitting patterns from the craft store and i'm a little confused. it says:

1st row: (WS). K2 Purl to last 2 sts. K2.

    2nd row K2. *yfwd. K2. pass yfwd over k2. rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.

    These 2 rows form pat.

end with a WS row and cast off.

what does the WS and Yfwd mean?

  • WS means wrong (purl) side

Yfwd means put the yarn forward (in front)

    hope this helps

  • I like it , and it's very easy to do it

    Thank you alot

  • yes, easy and fun. you can do so many things with it.

thanks. that's on my "to do" list. it's a little complicated, but beautiful when it's done. Please keep watching.

  • no, I never learned how to knit contentintal.

  • oh, stupid me. sorry, thought you were a beginner. yeah, she probably can do both ways, but finds it more comfortable holding the yarn on the right - as i do. continental does look faster - what way do you knit? x

  • I see that, just wondering if she knits both ways - many people do and the continental method is supposed to be faster. Surprised if she doesn't.

  • no she doesnt - the yarn is on the right :) x
