"The Art of Aging: Celebrating the Authentic Aging Self" - by Alice & Richard Matzkin
A couple, both artists, take a penetrating look at aging through a series of projects that confront their fear and curiosity about growing old. They explore physical changes, sensuality and relationships, aging parents, spirituality and death. Drawing on their personal experiences and the wisdom of older mentors, they conclude that their elder years can be a time of ripening and harvest rather than stagnation and despair. The profusely illustrated book contains a wealth of inspiration, especially for those about to enter old age.

...and how fortunate you two to have each other to share, create and love. Widowed once and lost an "honest-to-God" man who live his beliefs. At 75, wonders I found another to love as deeply, but those previous 37 years were not to be repeated. A wise, kind love he was and we shared exactly 6 months when our phone conversation ended abruptly and I was thousands of miles away. How blessedf? know I possess ability to share love with many more, family, friends. Wisdom comes, if we wait.

What a beautiful video with a message that is so necessary in a world seemingly fixated on youth being the height of beauty and success. This is how I want to feel when I'm older. Thank you for this truly lovely insight.

Lovely video. I appreciate your perspective very much. I am also an artist working with issues about women's body image. Two of my favorite pieces are of a 90-year-old dancer who still teaches dance!
Talk about someone who is aging gracefully!

What an absolutely wonderful video -- one that needs to be seen by so many in this youth-related culture of ours. Just like Alice and Richard, I see myself constantly rediscovering myself. Even now at 58, I feel that in many ways my life has hardly begun. There is still so much yet to be discovered, explored and experienced. When one gets to the point at which that is no longer the case, then it is all over.
