Their LP has travelled the world with me to the extent that I now dont have a record player to hear this. So, second best and I love it, many, many years later!

I saw them in Springs, and for sure, they were the best at the time, and were 40 years, 2010 time, ahead of any othe band in SA, why has no one ever thought of reving their music??

great, great version! remember seeing these guys at a "carols by candlelight" performance at zoo lake, jo`burg in 1972. my first rock concert...
as for the song, I now notice that, quite obviously, vocalist dave ornellas was inspired by eric burdon and war`s version of "tobacco road": the "improvised" vocal section near the end is a picture-perfect copy of what eric burdon does on "tobacco road". don`t take my word for it though, check it out!

If this doesn't make very goosebump bump and every hair on your arms stand on end, then you never saw Hawk do this live! I STILL rate HAWK (not Jo'burg Hawk) as the best band to ever have come out of South Africa. Unfortunately during their time there was little if any scope for SA bands on the world music scene. If there had been, these guys would have been our first SUPERGROUP!!!!!

Yeah, like Pretoria City Hall 1972; or Green Point Stadium 1971, with a lekker dagga- bottle neck, we were made; you know then my china...

@offroader111 Hawk used to play at the 'Electric Circus' in the 80s. When you heard this song you knew it was time to go home, lol. Great band. They did tour Europe at some stage, some of Europe anyway. Peace.
