not exactly, django was acomplished musician even before the fire accident. We can only speculate how this influenced his style and technique but he surely is THE greatest guitarist ever (for me at least)

I was told and I'm certainly no expert! But the guy who told me was a pretty good jazz guitarist and he was told by some Belgian Gypsies, and he told me it was affirmed regularly "Always Down" in terms of lead picking. Discuss?!

Yeah he would he's defanitley one of the best guitarists ever I admire his speeding technique on diminished scales and chromatics and even his improvisations. He was lucky to have his two fingers although his playing was fucked.
