Christopher Jacobson performs on Easter evening. The toddler tourists were out in full force for this recital, adding their voices to the 10,647 pipes of this amazing instrument. But that's one thing I love about organ recitals: they're "live" in the fullest sense of that word ;-) I expect it goes without saying that the Handel theme M. Guilmant uses is "Lift up Your Heads" from Messiah.

  • Nice! Organist from SA

  • magnifica catedral , pero no es el mejor organo de tubos.

  • @iandavidhenderson I agree with both comments. I have two excellent recordings of this work: Jane Parker's on the Westminster Abbey organ just after the restoration (Priory Records) and the symphonic version with Ian Tracey and the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral organ with the Liverpool Philharmonic on Chandos Records.

  • I truly enjoyed Jacobson's first-class performance and the fine photography of the cathedral.

  • very well done

  • A very fine reading of this wonderful piece.
