GA Tech Horse Show IHSA- Novice Jumping: Emily

Georgia Tech IHSA Horse Show -11-04-07: Emily in Novice Jumping (2'3)
1. I have never ridden this horse before! I did not get to practice or warm up on this horse.
2. Comments are encouraged as long as they are ALL POSITIVE!! =o)
3. No I wasn't supposed to trot to the last two fences, so that didn't help me get a ribbon, especially since there were 13 other people in my division.
4. This was my 2nd time EVER jumping in a Intercollegiate Horse Show (my last time was last March)

your equitation looks all over the place and you need to count your stides and push your horse more. but thats what i used to look like.

My eq wasn't that bad and I did get the correct strides down the first line. I had never ridden this horse before I did my courtesy circle and didnt expect him to think we were finished when we passed the gate. He was a great horse and a fun ride.

he looks like he doesn't really jump! hes a better horse than one of the horse i was showjumping on the other day.. scout he was too fresh and didnt want to jump the fences he wanted to gallop over the arena fence! i pulled out lol :L

wow u did good! i could tell that ur horse wanted to take a extra short stride (chip) and if u had let him he would have nocked down the jump but u pushed him so that he didnt and that takes good riding skills to do that! u should be proud of ur self

that was a really tough course. I've never seen rollbacks in IHSA novice classes. You did good though... it looks like the horse needed you to push him a little harder through the turns... and once he trotted right before the 2nd to last jump, you weren't going to be able to get him to canter on that rollback to the last fence. Good job though. You are a good rider :o)

I was walk trot in IHSA when I graduated and jump alumni now. I know how hard it is!

That was a pretty hard course--well ridden. :)

The only suggestion I have is to see your distance and look up. A couple of fences it looked like you were looking more at your distance or the base of the fence. So decide on your spot, look up--through/past the fence--and drive to the spot you want.

PS--Love the song. Title/Singer?
