A great initiative is gaining momentum...

Cycle for Sustainability is a sustainability education road-show, motivating and empowering school children and the broader community to take action toward sustainable living.

Our lifestyles are jeopardising the planet and its inhabitants. Pessimism will do nothing to remedy this.

Inspired by Gandhi's philosophy 'be the change you wish to see in the world' and the Otesha Project www.otesha.org, this ride coincides with the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development

Project themes:
• Ride -- epic journey of 3,000 kms on bicycles
• Celebrate -- live in communities with diverse lifestyles and celebrate meaningful actions toward sustainable living.
• Educate -- with theatrical performance and engage community at public forums and info stalls.

This journey begag in Sydney, August 2006 and finished in Hobart mid December 2006. Check out current tours at: http://www.otesha.org.au

Topics:
Building design - Education - Energy - Health -- Natural Resource Management - Reduce and Re-Use - Sustainable Agriculture -- Transport -- Fair Trade
