I can't recall if ASIMO is Toyota brand or not...but why does he (it?) look so stupid and unbalanced in carrying his lower body weight while walking and standing when these solely musical-instrument playing robots seem more advanced in that area?

@McJellyToast ASIMO is made by Honda. These Toyota robots aren't as versatile as ASIMO when it comes to walking. It may look more natural, but it is also much more limited. They can't run with these legs.

why spend so much time building a sofisticated machine to play instruments, where is the robot house assistant? i don't want a damn robot that plays the trumpet, i want a robot who can help with household chores and errands...

@r0b0tj0n3s Toyota's reasoning for it was two fold.  (1) It's great entertainment and PR value, which is what these robots were designed for. (2) Building a robot that can dexterously play an instrument like the trumpet or violin could be viewed as a step towards a robot that can handle tools or other objects.
