@Trisscarro it depends on which way you are using the force... while writing with pencil, you are using force on a side ( horizontally )and the layers separate, but if you use force vertically the graphene can stand that and it doesn't brake... its called anisotropy... opposed to isotropy, which implies identical properties in all directions. good answer ?
