Holy hell these new high efficiency Trane air conditioners are HACKED!

Here are some pictures of one of the WORST attic mounted furnace/evap coil install ever!

When you pop up into this attic in the West Arizona valley, you will find a cluster fukk! Two Trane 80% two stage gas furnaces with Trane XL19i two stage air conditioners.
The one furnace isn't too bad to access. But the other one has the flue pipe ran DOWNHILL then around the furnace where you need the room to work on the furnace, then back up through the roof! When I looked at it, I could see it would have been very easy to just run that flue pipe up and over the furnace. But again the installers must not have had the fittings they wanted, and this company must not like to spend ANY EXTRA TIME to do things properly! But your looking at what costed the customer about $20k to replace their original A/C equipment!

And that's not even the worst of it!
These dudes installed the cased evap coils with the access panels both facing the rear up against the vaulted wall!!! WTF??!!!!

I actually talked to the supervisor AND the owner of this company and they simply don't care, and think this sh*t is normal!

This obviously would NEVER pass any building codes. IF Peoria, AZ would enforce contractors to pull a permit and have an inspection!!!!

I hope Trane knows how well their top of the line equipment is being installed by there so called "Top Dealers"!!!

What a crock of horse sh*t!

  • Trane has great products but it doesnt matter if some idiot installed it!!!

  • Dumb asses flue pipe is tha best yes wtf

  • Come on, name names. Who installed this? They don't deserve to be in business.

  • The two stage furnaces have two. The second one closes when the inducer speeds up for 2nd stage heat. They usually just use a "squarrel cage" blower wheel.

  • Why do some furnaces have two? And is there a spring in those switches? An Impeller is in there right?

  • The inducer motor "induces" a draft through the heat exchanger. On the inlet side of the inducer there is a slight negative pressure. That slight "vacuum" pulls the pressure switch diaphram which closes a set of contacts in the microswitch. The control board then knows it's ok to start the ignition sequence. If there is a restriction in the flue, or the inducer fails to operate, then the pressure switch will be open and the control will not ignite the furnace, or shut down if it was running.
