Kabuli chana or white chana or Chickpeas or Chole whatever you call them, they only taste delicious if cooked punjabi style! So here's the pure punjabi style chana.
Ingredients:
Pressure cook chickpeas with salt, 1/2 tsp methi dana (fenugreek seeds) and a tea bag. keep them aside...
Tadka:
1 big onion grated
2 tomatoes grated
3 cloves of garlic grated
1 tsp ginger paste or grated
1-2 green chillies or paste according to taste
1 Tej patta (bay leave)
1 whole red chilli
3 cloves
1 tbs jeera
1 tbs garam masala
1 tbs dhania powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
For garnish fresh coriander and lemon juice (optional). Serve hot with puri, chapati or rice.
