Question: can the President render a military salute? Is it proper for a President to salute a passing parade or should he put his hand over his heart in the civilian manner?
-
Many of the kids at the end of the clip are out of steps...
Noobs..

Go Coast Guard! My father was an officer serving aboard cutters before pilot training and eventually flying C-130s search and rescue out of Kodiak.

@mf18nh John Wayne? dude he was to old for the draft, he was liek 35 when WW2 broke out.
He's called the Commander and Chief for a reason dummy.

@Dogmeat1950 never left the states. sold bonds....a lot like the biggest phony of all John Wayne (alias). Point is I do not want a civilian commander acting like a military officer.

Question. As the Commander of a Army JROTC Color Guard why was the American Flag placed behind the band and Drill team?
-
YAY for socialism!

The USCG Band was great along with the cadets from the academy but the last group was out of step.

We do not have any footage of the other services at the inauguration. You may wish to contact a USMC public affairs office.

I don't think those front lines of cadet (leaders) were anything to shout about. Line was way off and you had that one girl so close to the tall guy that they looked like a couple. All the companies looked good. And why would recruits precede veterans? Also, why is the prez saluting?

Thank you for your constructive input. The band was first, followed by cadets, who are in officer training, and enlisted members, who are subordinate. Senior leadership is typically first and the order of the marching sections was typical. The president should return salutes as any other officer would, since he is at the top of the chain of command as Commander in Chief of all military personnel.
