Agreed. You can twist cirten things with sci fi, but not fantasy. A pilot of a giant robot who is white? Ok. The master of the ultimate martial art and named "Kenshiro" who is a white guy? GAH, FUCK NO!

I think asians should stick with asian characters, and whites can play white characters.... Hence why most anime based movies made in america suck.

Most of the problems that stem from movies based on video games, they get away from the source material. How much source material does mortal kombat have? My biggest concern is getting an Asian guy for Raiden. The American people, despite what some claim, are no so racist and shallow they need to see a white guy playing a Chinese thunder God. Besides being white guys, they didn't play the part well. Even Christopher Lambert didn't have a Godly presence
