If you're going bike on any roads, regardless of what style of bike, you better ride defensively if you want to stay alive. I ride mostly on trails because most american motorists dont know how to share the road with cyclists. I cant count how many times cars have cut me off when they made right turns on red lights. Or how many soccer moms honked at me because they didnt understand how the bike lane split between car lanes.

@AutodromoF1 Me, too. I can hear cars from far away behind me due to riding for 5 years. It's like second sense. Even lights reflecting off of certain things you notice at night.

I never listen to music anymore since moving onto road bike from BMX. It's just stupid to listen to music. Dumb woman.

Maybe avoid listening to load music while training? Try listening for trucks round the next corner?
