  • @mistasmif31 U are an American before black though. Do not ask what a president can do for your ethnic race, ask what you can do for your country.

  • @mistasmif31 George Bush appointed the first black secretary of defense and state. (Rice and Powell). He won the most minority votes ever in Texas as governor and appointed a Hispanic supreme justice. Black people had the highest wage increases ever under Bush. Republican and Democrat are about the same, do not use tags to generalize.

  • Lincoln like many other might have had personal convictions to free slaves but to say he didn't care about slaves is a strong point. Lincoln could have easily catered to the south and let slavery continue in some states. He could have brushed black people aside as a forgotten race. I am not as educated on this as I would like to be though.

  • Lincoln freed the slaves as basically a slap in the face to the south. You need money to fight wars, and the south's main staple was slavery. So if I abolish slavery, the south cant buy bullets. It was a strategy of war, he did'nt give a tinkers dam about slave per se.

  • don't really thank lincoln cause if the confederates(southern) states would have joined the union when lincoln asked he might not have freed the slaves. him freeing the slaves was really only a punishment for union having to go to war and taking over the confederates states. it's funny a republican president freed the slaves but these day's the republican's today can give a fuck less about blacks if we don't get our shit together they going to put us back in legalize slavery

  • 212 to 12? oh snap!

  • thank you, Mr Lincoln.
