http://CarpalTunnelMaster.com - If the scalene muscles are tight it is one of other possible causes of numbness in the hands. It can pinch any or all of the nerves that can go into the hand and can even cause numbness in the forearm or further up the arm. Other problems that can be caused by tight scalenes are headaches and forward jutting of the neck.

If the area shown in the video is tender when you pull your fingers around the collar bone, you should work on them to either prevent problems or reverse them. Part 2 will have more stretches.

  • Thanks for your videos, I find them helpful. However, I have elbow pain in both elbows for months as well as stiff fingers at night in my thumbs, pointer and middle fingers. The pain in my elbows is constant and I always want to put my arms straight to relieve pain especially at night but also during the day. My fingers do not bother me during the day much just stiff at night. My elbows are in in constant pain, could this be caused from tight scalene muscles. I do not get headaches much.

  • @elbowjointpain Not likely the scalene muscles. When you say elbows, do you mean in the elbow joint or in the upper part of the forearm? Search youtube for watch?v=lPwchTEsK-8 ..I suspect you have tight forearms and your elbow pain is tendonitis. That video will explain why that causes numb fingers.

  • i get numbness in my thigh...Do u know why or how to make it go away...Its been going on for 1 day now...i was doing a workout video and at the end my thigh was numb.

  • @MonterrioJajuan Front or back and EXACTLY where?

  • @DiscomfortFree The front of my thigh....the middle front and kinda by my knee.

  • @MonterrioJajuan You have a pinching of the Femoral Nerve. The question is where and why. Could be caused by tight jeans, wearing heavy a tool belt or pinching in the vertebrae. If it is either of the first two, then it may take a few months after you remove the cause for the nerves to resolve. A chiropractor could tell you if the pinching is in the spine. Often an adjustment will take care of that unless it is serious. If you do see one, have him suggest stretches or exercises.

  • Thanks for you kind help to others. For the last four months I have a pain between my left shoulder and the elbow (biceps). Pain is very strong and sharp; it comes when I rotate the arm or make a sudden and fast movement. It also ache (not sharp) If I move the arm over my head or if I try to touch the upper part of my back. After a few minutes the pain goes, although lately is lasting longer. I did not have an accident; it started when I tried to reach an item behind me and rotate the arm.

  • I've recently started doing neck stretches to correct my forward neck posture. I have a lot of pain in my neck, shoulders and upper back. I noticed that after I do the stretches some of my finger tips go numb. Is that a bad sign?
