Featuring paul mccartney playing drums,piano,bass & maracas and john lennon playing rhythm guitar,lead guitar,percussion (beating on the back of his acoustic guitar!) and singing. It was recorded in abbey road the 14th april 1969 and released the 30th may of the same year, becoming the seventeenth and final UK number one single for The Beatles. The song is a ballad in the traditional sense of a narrative poem in a song, not in the sense used in modern pop music where the term usually refers to a slow, sentimental love song. This video (not made by me) was provided a long time ago by the official beatles site for the promotion of "1" in 2000.

@Beatlesman227 George was on vacation..Ringo was filming a movie. John had a sudden inspiration for this song and asked that Paul and he record it before the other two returned. Amazing how talented they were, especially when they collaborated together!

wow wow wow wow what a sec! so Ringo and George had NOTHING to do with this song because it says Paul played drums, bass, piano, and maracas. and John played played guitar and percussion, so what did George and Ringo do?!?!?!
