Raila overules Nyong'o,sends NHIF board packing

Prime Minister Raila Odinga has overruled Medical Services Minister Professor Anyang' Nyong'o and sent the whole board home. Raila says the board and the fund's Ceo will remain suspended for three months pending investigations into the scam. The PM spoke as pressure mounted on Nyong'o to quit over the payouts made to phantom clinics. NTV's Sheila Sendeyo reports.

Raila odinga did not send the NHIF board packing. President Kibaki through Head of Civil Service Amos Kimemia’s announcement had already sent them home. Not even the hot air by Anyang Nyong’o could have changed the President’s decision. A Court of Law could only have confirmed it. The statement by Raila is a red herring meant to hoodwink Kenyans. Raila says, “after consultations.” With whom? Raila can only consult with the President when it comes to Ministerial positions e.g. firing Nyong’o.
