A personal (and crude) fingerstyle version of this Tom Adair & Matt Dennis 1941 song.
Of course, not a Jazz guitar interpretation, as I am totally clueless about jazz chord progressions and technique.
(I try more or less to follow the melody of Chet Baker's two vocal versions. In G, as one of his versions).
I do it twice: the second time, trying to be less bouncy, in order to be truer to the song's melancholy spirit.
With my apologies to the fans of this beautiful song!

  • amazing! you definitely do justice to the original!

  • Thank you so much, Flavnyc! You're a fine singer, yourself.

  • I love the experimental quality of this one...We all love your songs. I especially am thrilled by a less than perfect rendition. It shows you are human after all!!! It gives some of the rest of us hope......

  • I've often felt I should delete this one, when I think I dared mention the perfect version by Chet Baker.

A real massacre: all the more thankful to you.

  • i don;t know the originaly but i enjoyed the HELL out of that! awesome!

  • Thank you, Thenickanator! That's very flattering.

(Try to listen to Chet Baker's song, which is a gem.)

  • will do! thx again for the ace vid

  • Your comment is so very rewarding: thank you, Khonamanje!

"Live" is something difficult to imagine for me. When I play in front of someone (1 person is enough), I become self-conscious, and make a mess of my chords and of the melody. Even when I start my camera, that's enough to make me a little nervous of playing in front of...something! (silly)

  • well done T.once again,I would really love to hear your version of 'hello dolly'.I'm getting so used to your wonderful videos,it's becomming an addiction.when are you gonna hit the road and tour the jazz circuit?I'd love to see you live

  • Thank you, J3ohnny, for this encouraging comment!
