"Steal the Rod" as Young Link

Shows how to take the rod out of the pond as Young Link. This can also be used to take the rod out of the pond as Adult Link if you don't have the Hover Boots.

To do it, simply run onto and off of one of the rocks at the back of the pond, and before he falls off of it, cast. If all goes well, he'll land, and then cast. You can now walk around with it cast, and can leave the pond with it, without the man stopping you. If you try to cast outside, Link will be frozen in place.

Contrary to popular belief, this method still only works in V1.0 of the game.
