From my understanding you cant watch premium channels like HBO or other "non-interaction" premium channels due to coding in windows that prevents it. Cable Labs, Inc. Forced Microsoft to sign an agreement so that Media center wont display premium content unless its on a certified OEM pre-built machine (dell, sony, etc). This way most users will still need a cable box. And guess what! There arent any cable card set top boxes available to the public! And its not a coincidence. Cable Labs again.
