The saints of First Presbyterian Church had been oppressed with a large building they could not afford for many years. Finally, the congregation had the foresight to sell the church property to the City of Coos Bay for a site of the new fire station. The church still survives without the burden of the expensive building. While it is sad to see the dreams of generations being pulled down by bulldozers, we can be assured that the saints of the church would have wanted to contribute to the wellbeing of the greater community.
