The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Africa Harvest have partnered to spearhead a three-year project on Food security and ecosystem management for sustainable livelihoods in arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) of Kenya.

The focus of the project is on the Eastern Province districts of Kitui Central, Makueni and Nzaui which are characterised by high poverty levels due to the dry climate, repeated crop failure and recurrent drought.
