I'm Catholic and steadfastly pro-life/anti-abortion/anti-choice, and I applaud Tasha for having her baby. That said, this video takes a noble cause and makes it dirty. It's manipulative and dishonest, and the maker should be ashamed.
A disgusting travesty of the truth by an organisation that is supposed to honour truth!
Tasha said to The Telegraph: "she briefly considered an abortion, before deciding she could not terminate the pregnancy".
Tanya exercised her right to choose. A right the Catholic Church seeks and does deny.
I'm glad she put her baby before her career. But to use Tanya in a campaign to deny choice to the very desperate, to cause unnecessary death & pain in the name of life is just sick.
I think you're a great athelete and role model and was jumping up and down in my living room during your race. You should have got silver. That's why I looked you up on You Tube.
But this ad really infuriated me as it made out the media or athletics establishment were directly pressuring you to abort which would have been outrageous and disgusting were it true. You did the right thing and you've been rewarded for that. But a pro-life message which manipulates the truth is wrong
The point is maybe my choice will make just one woman make a different choice and I think that's the only thing that's important here. It's not a competition of who's story is better than whose or who went through more adversity it's about how we can help others in difficult situations know that they have support and in the end they can be victorious. If you have ideas on how this can be done contact me and I will discuss and maybe we can work together on it ;) ciao for now
But you would not know about these conversations as they were not public knowledge in fact one reporter told me he wasn't even going to report everything that one guy said because he felt it was too bad. and that's the british press i'm talking about.
You can judge me however you choose but I know for a fact that my story changed lives and maybe saved some. I gained nothing from my situation except maybe stress but my goal is to bring other people up not put them down what's yours god bless ;)
Of course the media did not call for me to have an abortion. But obviously I had conversations with members of the media who informed me of what was being said or implied I also had conversations with other athletes that let me know what was going on...
In 2003 she was married, 25 and wasn't exactly a world beater in athletics. She'd have been some animal to have an abortion for the sake of a sport. Why does this video make her out to be a hero? Laughable, and insulting to all of those women and girls who have kept their babies in the face of real adversities.
total and utter lies. at no stage did the media or athletics establishment call for her to abort. It is despicable that you should seek to make such a disgusting allegation.

That Danvers loves a bit of drama.
