a preview of the London Musical Museum at Kew Bridge, London. Opens to the public 27th November 2007. Player pianos, player organs, automatic violins, orchestrions, pipe organs, gramophones, phonographs, music boxes, barrel organs, barrel pianos, organettes, the "fotoplayer" for accompanying silent movies, the Mighty Wurlitzer cinema organ (which can play automatically also!) and much more!

Shown in this clip : Popper "Clarabella" orchestrion, Welte "Mignon" reproducing piano, Hupfeld Animatic S piano with orchestra cabinet, Imhof and Mukle orchestrion, Hupfeld "Sinfonie Jazz" orchestrion, Mills Violano violin player.

  • Great to see this! I didn't know there was this collection. If you visit the museam, do they always let the instruments play?

    The only thing playing the day I went was the Wurlitzer Organ. I was very disappointed!

  • Its a real shame that not as many people are taking an interest into these wonderful instruments. If only more people would display these wonderful machines in the general public,then life would be a breeze for the world of mechanical music :)
