  • Go Big Bird!!!!!!!!!!!My favorite bowler of all time

  • Garner wasn't actually that fast. He was probably in the 135km/r to 145km/r speed. I've got book on fast bowlers and most of the great bowlers of his era agree on this. His greatest skills were steepling bounce and near perfect line and length and a perfect yorker that he could bowl at will. He hardly bowled a bad ball in his whole career, not to mention a match! I've been watching cricket since the early 70's and Garner is my number three of all time. 1. Marshall 2.Lillee

    3.Garner.

  • Too bad his career was too early for the one-day era. As a one-day bowler his strike rate and economy were just incredible. No one has come close.

  • @melglen1 I like you to know i like the nepalese people and am glad that your youth team is improving dramatically in past decade ,i realise there is a huge love of cricket in your country and maybe by 2015 or 2019 nepal could be improved enough to be in world cup, good luck .

  • @meercatzz No i havent played against or with those windies players you mention , but i have with many past and current Australian stars . Why do asian block nations( includin Nepal) think because there region has had succes there since mid 90s that cricketeres are better than era before. Batting Techniques in test cricket are worse today because of 20 20 slog fest .Bowlers arent as fit and breakdown more often .The west indies and aussie teams of 90s fielding was better than today.

  • @melglen1 dude I'm not live on TV making statements, i'm giving my opinion here on youtube .. like everyone else. if you've played with greenidge, holding, garner.. good for you.

  • @meercatzz I have no problem with you being from Nepal however iam pointing out to you that its hard to make statements about the quality of a team if youve never witnessed them in real life or in the nets as i have and played against and with several current test cricketers.

  • @melglen1 I was liking your analysis till you judged me just because I'm from Nepal so I don't know cricket. How lame is that. I don't know where you're from and care less. Two things - you don't have to land on the moon to know there is moon. Second, I've been following cricket since 1985 LIVING in Nepal watching it on TELEVISION and seen these teams rise and fall pretty much the same time you did.

  • @meercatzz Trust me if you had seen the windies such as ambrose garner marshal richards richardson haynes etc play live ,then you would know why they were so dominant the other sides were good just windies were awesome . Windies started to falter mid 90s because their fast bowler assembly line dried up due to unknown factors ( possibly basketball , soccer , and athletics stealing talent ) which made their first class competition ordinary and therefore test team suffered.

  • @meercatzz YOU dont understand boosting average means its what teams like zimbabwe and bangladesh do for players and team records in past decade or so . Why are you commenting on strength of a team that you probably have never seen live play , You are from Nepal so i doubt youve even seen a test match or know much about cricket , Ive personally witnessed live all these teams contests at the WACA , MCG ,SCG Adelaide oval etc from early 80s to 2011 .

  • @melglen1 I beg to differ again, these sides did have great players, but as a team they were not winners and could not give the Windies a hard enough push. Whereas in the 90s, all these teams became stronger and so much strong that Windies became an easy win for them (albeit windies had their own shortfalls). Adding South Africa to the equation makes the competition even more tough in the 90s. Simply put, there were stronger teams to beat in the 90s. I don't understand boosting average.

  • @Indul1 both great teams too hard to separate , South africa late 60s awesome to.
