It's the end of the year, so here is my favourite sequence of riffage from the entire of 2011.

The song is Huge Hammers by The Safety Fire. Click the annotation in the video to check it out.

The guitar used is a Mayones Setius, recorded through an Axe FX Ultra.

I'd like to thank my wonderful girlfriend Nicole Lloyd for handling the filming of this video.

I am now available for lessons on the wonderful website www.bandhappy.com. Please go and check out my teacher profile at the following link to request a lesson, or to see some of the specific lessons I am offering: http://www.bandhappy.com/profile/peteyg

  • @PeteyGRaves My I ask why you chose the tuning of EBGDAA? It seems just like a drop tuned 7 string. Though as a guitarist it makes perfect sense as it its easy to get low and you can bar chords to get an a heavy effect. But why avoid the 7 string? It almost seems easier than having to set up your guitar. Though regardless you guys rock.

  • @ImIntoAnimals This isn't my song or even a song by a band I am in so I wouldn't be the one to ask. That being said I have used this tuning before and have written songs in this tuning that are now played on a 7 string guitar. Why? Because playing in these sorts of tunings forces you to play in a different manner to what you might normally do, and it is when you are doing that that you can more easily force creativity.

  • what do you have to do to endorse mayones

  • @willismanson1971 To gain endorsement deals from any company you really need an audience of people who listen to your opinions and guidance, or who just idolise you so much that they will buy whatever you buy. I like to think my audience is the former, the idea of being idolised bothers me, and I would hope that I attract an intelligent, intellectually interested and interesting group of people.

  • fucking great vid Petey. Quick question, as I'm deciding on details for a Setius I'm buying. Do you prefer the gloss back or the back on your Mayones guitars?

  • @iBIurr I'm honestly not the best person to ask, since I'm against gloss guitars across the board.

  • @gianniswildchild Not meaning to be pedantic, but people always seem to get that wrong, it isn't so much that Mayones endorse me, but as an artist endorsing a product I in fact endorse Mayones.
