Today I was visiting a little stronghold from my town, in the east of France. It's a place from which you can see all town. There is a monument there, dedicated to the soldiers od the 3rd US Infantry who fought there very hard to liberate my town.
Most of the divisions who landed there with the help of US logistic, were French, 256000 men of the General De Lattre B army. Half of them were colonial troops of French Africa. They liberated a big part of southern France, and went ahead in the Rhone valley, until eastern France and Germany.

@Kyno1407 Patton was not in command of this force. Gen. Patch was in command of 7th Army Group when the Dragoon landings were made.
