This is a Nice Clamshell Mutoscope from the early 1900's. The reel is showing a golfer swing around the 1920's

  • The cards were mounted the way a Rolodex holds index cards, 'Anime'- the wheel they were attached to had individual holders for each card.

Mutoscope viewers offered a wide variety of subjects- from sports highlights, to comedy sequences (including scenes from silent movies and cartoons)...and "adult" material as well.

  • How are the picture cards mounted?? I read that they had a large rubberband holding them. I have been trying to make one of these. Any info would be most appreciated , thanks!!
