I finally got a weekend off with decent flying weather and needed to build something quick and the new Tower Hobbies F4U Corsair fit the bill perfectly.
This is the receiver ready version meaning you will have to supply your own receiver, airplane battery and Transmitter to get this plane in the air.
The plane was out of the box and assembled in less than one hour. In fact I completed the build before the battery was charged. Most of the electronics were installed right out of the box and I put the plane together with just a couple screw drivers. No glue needed!
Here are my final thoughts on the plane after the maiden flight.
Quick and easy to assemble.
No glue required. Just two screw drivers.
100% painted with decals.
Magnetic canopy and cowl for quick access.
Removable landing gear for grass landings.
The 1000Kv brushless motor was very strong in flight.
I got around a 8-10 minute flight time from the 3S 1800 mAh lipo.
The only downside that I noticed was that the tail wheel was not steerable, but other than that the plane handled really well.
You can purchase this plane online from Tower Hobbies at this link..
