i have some questions . is true that all eritreans speak arabic or also speak tigre language. i want know if i know arabic also i can speak with the tigre poeple,,,,,,,and i have other doubt tigre language is the same that the amhariña or the tigriya,,,,,,,,,can a tigryña understand to a amhara................

A large majority of Eritreans are fluent or have some understanding. Tigre is close to both Arabic and Tigrigna, to me it seems like Tigre is Arabic and Tigrigna mixed. Amharina comes from Tigrigna and has a lot of Cushitic influence due to its location! Though they are related, Tigre and Amharic are distant family members! Tigrigna speaker can not understand Amharic, nor can a Tigre speaker completely understand Tigrigna.

If our heroes Tegadelti thought they were worthy of their blood sheded then one of you have the right to question the Eritrean identity of the Rashaida people. all residing within Eritrea proclaiming to be Eritrean and loyal to Eritrea are Eritreans. I ask this what have you contributed to Eritrea that makes you better than anyone else?

@nakfa83 Moreover the Rashaida contributed A LOT to Eritrea's independence struggle. They smuggled and spied a lot for the Shabia back in the day, right under the Derg's unsuspecting nose:-)

Rashaida just came to Eritrea though, In general Bedouins think they are a nation on their own wherever they go.

The oldest Eritreans are the Afar that been there as far as history goes those speak the old Language, then the Semitic speaking Tigrinya those assimilated lots of natives but the original Semitic group came a few thousand years ago
