Doesn't the TAS supposed to be in @12:15 instead of 14:23.34? Because I guess that you start the timer when you start to play with the character (around 2:15) and suppose to be finished when mario grab the big star at the end (around 14:33)?

@jutra0 No. TAS timing is different. Every TAS speedrun starts at the first frame of the game (@0:02 since the first 2 seconds are the logo), and it ends when the last input is pressed, which is just before the star appears (i'm able to jump before so that i dont need to press any button after it).

when you get the key to unlock Mario's door, it might be faster if you grab it with your tongue while off the edge (I've done this before) because then you would come out of the painting as if you died but still have the key - might be faster than doing the key dance

Just find a way to doorskip the 8 star door to the Gomboss Battle to unlock Mario, and then doorskip the door that the BitFS key goes to with Mario (if it doesn't load without the key then it should if you touch the back of the door). Then you can win with 0 stars and possibly faster than the N64 version.
